Will anyone miss that Brother Bear overlay? Does anyone even remember Brother Bear? It was a movie.

Yah, the carvings of the characters were a little cartoony, but they still looked more 'realistic' than the giant bear with the raft outside GRR (and were clearly made of wood too, instead of fiberglass). I don't know if I will miss the overlay, since it kind of depends on what they replace it with, but I did enjoy it for what it was. And I definitely remember Brother Bear. While few others seem to even realize it exists, I think it's one of Disney's best films. It doesn't really follow their traditional formula, but it is executed really well, and has some stunning visuals.

Not to pick on Al... but his snarky comment about "the panicky changes slapped on the park in its early years by a clueless executive team" was unnecessary and shows his never ending bias against the old management team. Why is it that he perceives the so called DCA "fixes" as slapdash and yet things like Pirates on Tom Sawyer Island and the Tarzan overlay of the Swiss Family Treehouse aren't? "I thought that was actually one of the better overlays they've done. The theme was entirely appropriate and tastefully dont." I agree. "The Red Creek Challenge Trail will likely receive retheming inspired by the Pixar film "Up" as the trail will be recast to reflect Russell's Wilderness Explorers." Of course it will. *sigh*

The Brother Bear overlay was far from a "panicky change" that was "slapped in place." There was a quick fix done, in that they introduced Chip 'n Dale into the original Ahwanee Camp Circle. The original show was long on authentic Indian lore, and was frankly rather somber. The "Magic of Brother Bear" show was part of a major overhaul, which added a lean-to to the outdoor seating (SHADE!), and a whole new show with the entirely appropriate characters of Koda and Kenai. Won't surprise me in the least if these charming bears are put out to pasture. I cannot tell you how many times I have come upon them meeting guests, who invariably cry out, "Look! It's Yogi and Boo Boo!" Sigh. (That said, I would love to see Russell and the Wilderness Explorers set up camp in the Trail. Woo hoo!)

These two classic Disney characters would be a perfect fit for the Trail.
