Mary and I decided to walk in through the main entrance, so she could stop at City Hall and get her birthday sticker. We did that, and ended up meeting the others where else? Space! We did that twice, then to Pinochio, and then to the "other" early entry known as Toontown Morning Madness. That was a first for us, and it was very nice to do Roger Rabbit and Goofy's coaster several times with no wait. Everyone was waiting for the opening ceremony so there were literally no lines for those rides. We got in line for Mickey's house and were about the 5th group. After only about 5 minutes of waiting, The Mouse himself was ready to greet us. The last time we were at DL, you went through the house, then met Mickey in the back to do photos. This time Mickey was right at his front door and pictures were taken there. I think I like it that way. Next we did the same routine at Minnie's house, then off to Innoventions (Kirk insisted we do this, and frankly, no one liked it but him), and HISTA. That one is getting old and tired IMHO. We all got popcorn and went to check out our photos. We each bought at least one 5x7 at $12.95(suckers!). I got one of the entire group with Mickey, as it turned out really cute and was probably the only pic of the entire group we had. We shopped the stores on Main St. where I got my friend Kathy a Pinochio ornament dated 2006(she collects all things Pinochio - and she also turns 50 this year). Coincidentally, when I came out of that store, here was Gepetto posing for pictures. The kids were off eating popcorn or touching breakable things somewhere, so I just took pics of some random kid with him so Kathy could have that too. I also bought a 50th ornament for Mary and I, and had them wrap hers separately so I could give it to her at dinner. DL was getting really packed by now, so we went to DCA and had lunch at WWS. The big kids went back to the hotel to swim and we went with Joanna and Haley to do Bugs Land. That place is cute! I especially liked the slo-mo bumper cars and the wonderful Heimlich. After ITTBAB (also very cute), we did Soarin', then back to the hotel to regroup. Soon it was time to leave for our 5:00 res at Goofy's Kitchen. What fun that was for Mary's birhtday and for the kids. We saw Pluto, Goofy, Max, Minnie, Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty, Chip and Dale. It was not very crowded, so the characters spent plenty of time with us. We had a hilarious moment (and probably one of those "you had to be there" moments because as I retell it, it's just not as funny!) when Goofy came up behind Nick and started playing with his shaggy hair. He was making little ponytails with it, running his gloves through it, then picked up Nick's fork and started combing it with the fork. Everyone was laughing including Nick. Then Goofy had him stand up in the middle of the room and sort of mimed the magician "nothing up my sleeve" spiel. He put a cloth napkin over Nick's face and made the "shhhhhh" motion, then went and hide around the partition, leaving Nick standing there with a napkin on his head. Nick was a great sport and laughed through it all, then 5 y.o. Haley got up and pulled the napkin off. Goofy returned and was literally rolling on the floor laughing. I think I laughed so hard I cried! I'm kicking myself for not having my camera on video mode, but I did get alot of still shots. Mary got a cupcake and a chorus of Happy Birthday sung to her, and we all left there very full of yummy food. We went back to the hotel to change shoes and clothes, then back to DL via monorail. It was more crowded than it had been since our first day there. Everyone did Space twice with FP's from earlier, then Buzz, while Kirk and I went and found 2 benches to watch the fireworks from. There were obstruction issues with some trees, but hey, it was a bench at 8:00. We were happy to have somewhere to sit! We had seen the fireworks from the F! balcony seating on our first night, but then had only seen bits and pieces so this was our chance to see the entire show. It was amazing! The kids really loved it too. Afterward we headed to the monorail and back to the hotel to crash. We were in bed by 10:30 after a long day.
