As always, fascinating reading. I don't understand every bit of the technical aspects, but I somehow feel smarter just by reading them! It's one thing to dream up a great attraction, but Mr. Gurr reminds armchiar Imagineers like me actually making the thing WORK is the hard part!

In this story he's working on Ford Magic Skyway [quite a task in itself I'm sure] and then get's the Lincoln project thrown in... "OK can do" Then it's .. "need it lighter and more fluid" That might not seem so difficult while reading the story...but when we stop and realize this was alll new technology and not much to rely on but imagination and ingenuity, pretty cool.

I believe Bob Gurr is very deserving of a window and in due time I'd bet he gets one. Others who I think are very deserving and do not have one are...

    Harper Goff
    Roger Broggie
    Mary Blair
    Sam McKim

So, maybe they don't have one "yet" but maybe someday soon they will and hopefully we can be there for the dedications

I'm also old enough to remember then Mr. Lincoln went on a tour of the US. I first saw him at a local shopping mall in Salt Lake City when I was in grade school. This had to have been during the late 1960s.

Does anyone else remember seeing Lincoln during his road trip? And which figure was used for the tour? Did they use the figure A after the close of the World's Fair?

I thought about Bob when I saw the Monorail "nose" for sale on Ebay. I wonder if he bid? :)

They should do that type of thing for DCA... have a Flik and Hopper animatronic doing shows, have a big fancy model of the place, show pictures and music of attractions and parades and DCA shows. Send it to every city in western America on a goodwill mall tour.
