I like how many of those characters aren't seen very often. It was great to see Dumbo (looking much better than at the opening 50 years ago I might say), Herbie, and Rutt and Tuke. I especially likes the creativity of including the puppets in with the other characters. I was scared that the castle would look really tacky, as it does in the concept art, but luckily the things weren't as heavy looking.

Curtain was scrapped. What I understand is that it blew over during installation and damaged the castle. They ended up just covering the 50th Logo on the front of the castle.

I actually liked having the castle as the backdrop for the entire ceremony as opposed to a big curtain until the reveal.

Ahh, maybe THAT was what we saw last night, on our way out of the castle, when we were leaving the Sneak Peek. My hubby looked up, as we were going thru the doorway, saw these huge brown wooden looking things, with multiple straps running around the length of them!

He mentioned this, we looked up and our friend, John, said it looked like they might be something that's going to be used the next day, to hang from the castle or something! I'll have to let him know he was sort of right!!

It was nice that they brought out characters that they don't bring out often (Clara Cluck, Darkwing Duck, Launchpad, Don Karnage, Robin Hood, Friar Tuck, Prince John, Ratcliffe, the Country Bears, etc.).

I'm still confident that characters like them (and other random characters) will be making appearances at the park for meet-and-greets during the 50th.
