The results are in and Walt Disney World received an overwhelming landslide victory in the "Best Family Vacation" category. A far away second and third were Myrtle Beach, SC, and Destin, FL respectively.

Some other categories of interest were:

    Shopping-
    Atlanta, GA
    Charleston, SC

    Getaway Resort
The Grove Park Inn - Ashville, NC

    Small Southern Town
    Beaufort, SC

    Country Bed and Breakfast
    Blackberry Farm - Wallabd, TN

    Best Family Restaurant
Wade's Family Restaurant - Spartanburg, SC

    Fine Dining
Commander's Palace - New Orleans, LA

    Family Beach Scene
    Destin, FL

    Best Southern City Experience
    Charleston, SC

    Best Barbecue
    Rendezvous - Memphis, TN

    Best Botanical Experience
    Callaway Gardens - PineMountain, GA

So if you find yourself in the South, these are some neat places to visit.

With the exception of WDW, you can find excellent examples of each category in Savannah, GA.

Personally I found the categories odd, but it was interesting to read about these, some of which I have visited. My personal favorite being Destin, FL...well not counting Walt Disney World of course.

Yes that's my view of the South courtesy of old Warner Brothers cartoons.
