My PC Spidey sense is telling me this is SOME kind of racism.....I just cannot put my finger on it.

(And here's a hint - if you are jumping at your keyboard right now to fire of a vitriolic reply, you don't get it!)

In the video description he uses the term "The Walt Disney World". Now I know a lot of Eastern Seaboarders use the strange term when referring to going to WDW as "We are going to 'Disney'", but I don't know of ANYBODY who has EVER called it "THE WDW".

The other thing that rings alarm bells is that he constantly refers to the "rides", not "attractions". VERY suss.

All in all, I am glad he is no longer working at WDW. The place could use LESS people like him and more of the cms that care about the guest experience and making the day of somebody(like me)who saved for fifteen months and flew from the other side of the planet more magical and memorable. I'd go so far as to say he did guests a service by leaving(if he ever worked there)and not letting his cynicsm and anger affect them!

Oh and I LOVE Disney music so I would really enjoy being around beautifully orchestrated versions of their most popular music for hours on end.

Sure beats that ghetto rap crap kids inflict on US today.

I don't think that's indicative of him not working there. I know CMs who don't follow Disney lexicon (and I don't think it's a big deal, either).

I agree, I guess. But it's not very realistic. WDW employs too many people and pays too little to expect an exceptionally high quality workforce. Disney is a great manipulator--they want the CMs to feel like what they're doing is magical and important, but they're paid like they're working at a generic fast-food restaurant (or worse). So while I have my good memories of helping guests out, I wouldn't go back and do it again. I suspect many former CMs from the last ten years feel the same way: neat memories, but not at all what you want to do with the rest of your life.

I would do it for "fun" after I retired, but yes, never for a job to make a living.

Oh trust me, I know. I have been to WDW.

From South Carolina Sue who "Ya'all"ed and "hyuck"ed us all the way down the river on the Jungle Cruise to fat Ernesto who gave us surly service at a fast food location to the female cm who apparently had never encountered an Australian accent before and when I asked for "a Coke" bellowed,

    "You want a CAKE?!?"

"No, I'd like a Coke, please"

    "YOU WANT A COCK?!?!"

"Uuuummmmm......yes, I have flown from Perth, Western Australia, come to the Magic Kingdom in Orlando Florida so I can ask a cm for a cock".

You'd think when she heard a word that sounded like "c-k" and she was standing in front of a tub full of AND SELLING Cokes and other soft drinks she'd just make the connection.

Yes, I have experienced the wonderful "service" at WDW.

And, yeah, the thing about the black manager is a bit racist.
