Anyone have any ideas or has anyone surprised their little ones with a surprise trip to Disney? If so, how'd you do it? Trying to think of some creative ways but I'm stumped.

After about 20 minutes I stopped the tape and asked them where they wanted to go. They came up with a bunch of places. Finally I gave each on a package containing mouse ears and my wife and I sang the mouseketeers song. They were thrilled beyond all expectations.
Originally Posted By StitchMom84 How you do it somewhat depends on how you're going to get there. Last August,my daughter and I surprised DGD and my husband with a trip to WDW. We had actually planned on taking a roadtrip to Tennessee to see relatives and were going to rent a mini-van for the trip. Since we were going to pick the van up at the airport anyhow, when we changed our minds and decided to fly to WDW, the "deception" was easier. My SIL was driving us to "pick up the mini van" at the airport and we were going to leave from there. When he dropped up off at the front ( we would have had to go inside and downstairs to the rental car counter), my daughte turned to my DH and DGD and said, "How would you like to not get a mini-van and drive to Tenn, but instead get on an airplane and fly to WDW?" Well, my husband didn't believe it, and DGD cried for about 30 seconds! She had stopped listening ( she was 8 at the time) after DD said we wouldn't be going to Tenn, and she thought we were just going home or something!), but when she realized her Mom had said we were going to WDW instead, it was the funniest transition from crying to happy that I've ever seen! Can you pretend you're going somewhere completely different until the very last minute when you just have to tell her? Or, make her go on a Treasure Hunt, and the "treasure" is the trip. Or, make up some kind of trivia game, with Disney questiongs ( making sure she's going to get answers correct), and let her "win" the trip!!

We're going to tell her on the 23rd - we fly out on July 13th so it will give her enough time to salivate over the idea of going to WDW. I have a suitcase packed with some new summer clothes. I'm going to do a treasure hunt with her to find it - once she opens it she'll see the clothes and then also the Disney maps in addition to a Minnie Mouse embroidered ear hat that we got for her. I'm hoping that'll be enough to put the 2 and 2 together.

We did a scavenger hunt all with disney items about five days before we were going to leave. at the end of the scavenger hunt there was a gift card for the disney trip. I made them guess what all of these items had in common and where we were going. They both said Disney world and then looked at me and said is there any more stuff that we can get. The registering that we were going to WDW didn't happen until two days later. Then they were very excited.

Emma will be excited and I'm sure will ham it up for the camera, but I know that it won't really hit her until a little bit later that she's ACTUALLY GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!! I think that's another reason why I wanted to tell her a little early.
