it seems the redo of TSI is barreling through. if his descritpion of the redo is accurate, it doesn't sound half bad.
i agree with his point that the island looks a little worn right now. i went in the treehouse, it is rather drab. Does anyone remember if the treehouse was a little more entertaining years ago. or is is the same?
Al mentions the grist mill that is closed, i am thinking he is talking about the building with the water wheel. however it is not closed. plus it rather small to have bands and things in it.

Also, I hope that the sound is not broadcast across the entire area, as I'm sure there are poeple who don't want to hear it. If they do it all along the edge of the water (except near the POTC entrance due to the traffic nightmare), the it wouldn't be too bad. I always thought that the placement of the current show was horrible, as it blocks one of the main paths through the area, adding to the already oversided crowds there. Hopefully this will help solve that problem a little.

Although caves are fine and dandy, why on earth would you need that many? The RR building is about the same size as the building that holds Peter Pan, Mr Toad, Alice, the Mad Hatter, and the Hearldry Shop. Although all of those are very small, clearly a lot can be put in a space that size. The building could fit on the island, but it would really ruin sightlines, as it would pretty much be touching the river on both sides. Even if they burried it, it would take many years to get the trees to grow back to the size that they are now. I think additional caves would be great, but limit them to a realistic size.

It has atmosphere that DCA doesn't have. A DTD with attractions could be the thing to make Disneyland Resort complete. I'd like something really new and different. And it could be the beginning of a revolutionary new entertainment form.

I am already bored with the pirates around the park. I hate the idea that they want to expand them. Talk about beating a clever idea to death.

I second that opinion. Why can't they re-do the island without adding a Pirates overlay? Oh, silly me. I know why. WDI is creatively dead.

The live pirate characters aren't being "expanded" they are being "moved" over to the island. Everything currently going on with the pirates in the walkways and alleys of NOS will be moved to the island.

Re-read the third page of the Miceage article and you'll see where that is repeatedly mentioned.
