Well, another couple on the tour did just that the very next morning. Aparently, they did get to be Honorary Grand Marshalls, but only because when they got to City Hall, the CMs said no way, that wasn't how it worked, and this couple proceeded to stay at City Hall and complain that the tour guide "said so" and the tour guide "shouldn't give out false information," etc., etc., (ad nauseum), for 3 hours, until City Hall folks gave in and "chose" them. For me, it would not be worth all of that hassle. This couple seemed to be pleased, but for me, having to whine and complain would comletely cloud over the experience. Maybe the folks at City Hall wanted a family that day, not just a couple. Who knows.

Guest Relations doesn't pick the Grand Marshalls, so I suppose it's fine to ask but don't be a you-know-what about it with the CM's in City Hall.
