So, DisneyToon Australia's final DTV feature will be "Cinderella 3". What a sad way to bow out.

It actually says, "No more Australian DTV. Hello, Asia."

DisneyToon is moving to Asia, to save Disney $40-50 mil each year. Read all about it:

More accurately, Disney is now going to outsource EVERYTHING except CGI (and don't kid yourself . . . their day's a-comin'). In short, there is no longer a "Disney animation" when it comes to 2D. There are only "other companies that Disney hires to do animation." They're the same companies that do the outsourced stuff for Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.

Think about it. Regroup. See if there's a new approach to hand-drawn animation.

But gone forever? Don't think so. As soon as CGI animated features have run their course [and they will run their course], Disney will have another sort of renaissance, and we'll be drooling at all the new techniques.

Oh yeah, and all the animatiors who have been displaced will come back to work for Disney.

As a side bar, in that same link, there was someone lamenting the fact that TV Guide is changing it's format from a digest size magazine to a full-size magazine. What a horrible idea, they say -- it's the magazine equivalent of New Coke, the person cries.

Thank you. I thought folks would understand that this was obvious.

As for the CG being contracted out - here's where a lot of it going: India.
