I thought it would be a great idea to "rescue" a little critter from the animal shelter in rememberance of all the folks that died rescuing others. We mosied over to the shelter and began looking at the doggies. We have two cats and are definately cat people, but decided to expand our family with the addition of a canine. We chatted with a few of the little sweeties and kept them in mind as we looked in other cages. Across the way was the Kitty Corner, so we peeked a look in there just to say howdy-do to a few of the little guys. We are now the proud owners of yet another little kitty. That makes three cats now in the HAUNTS household. We will be able to pick her up tomorrow after they take care of her privates and install LOJACK. PB and I are arguing as to what to call her -- PB wants to call her CHAOS because that's what it will cause, but I want to call her Madame Leota. We'll keep you posted as to how this all turns out. Making a rescue yesterday is kind of ironic since yesterday is also the day that PB got her driver's permit. Who's going to rescue the pedestrians????

Originally Posted By murfsmom what a great idea !! we have 6, the king of the castle is murphy, ( hence the name "murfsmom) he an indoor cat,has no desire to go outside. the other 5 are a litter we ended up keeping when the mom was killed by a coyote when they were 3 mos. there were 6, we found a nice home for one and tried for the others but people would call and not show up and etc, and that was 2 yrs ago. they are out door cats and we figured they would go off on their own but no, there they are ,all 5, we take roll call, tigger( he's orange) molly, maggie, and trouble !! and the funny part of this is my husband was NEVER a cat person, i would find a stray and he said were not keeping that cat ! 18 yrs later we still had her, when she passed away our daughter gave us murphy and he's been with us for 7yrs !!

We adopted a year old rottweiler puppy but the cats still rule our house. He is very afraid of them even though he out weighs them by about 150 pounds. Our male cat has made semi-friends with the dog but our female wants nothing to do with the dog.
