MousePlanet doesn't have the hours for August 2004. However, the week before Labor Day 2003, DL was open from 9 AM to 11 PM and DCA from 10 AM to 9 PM.

Kids get more days off around the holidays than I did when I was in school. Christmas (before it was PC to call it such), Easter, and other holidays that were non-existant when we were kids, like Martin Luther King day.

And then there are your "teachers' days" where kids don't attend school and the teachers do whatever...

Nowadays, kids' days off are spread throughout the year, not all at one time like back in the dark ages.

My husband and I see a year round school year in the not too distant future. Some schools already do this and I think this is the way of easing the rest of the parents into it.

Now, all snow days need to be made up, so most schools schedule something like 185 days with 5 planned snow days. If schools are not closed for that many days then either a long weekend in May is planned and/or school lets out a couple of days early.

That, an MLK day, are about the only changes.
