If anyone has a chance to grab a deal there, I would recommend it highly (although in fairness it WAS several years ago so YMMV).

So I re-bid a 3.5, and got the Crown Plaza for $53. Not too bad at all! We stayed thursday thru sunday - just got back last night. The hotel was very nice. TOO darn nice, since now hubby does not want to stay at GCH next month and wants to use Priceline again! OYE. Oh well, how can I argue with getting a very nice hotel for LESS than one quarter of the price? I love the convienence and atmosphere of Disney hotels, but WOW, what a deal with Priceline. We have used Priceline in the past many times, but usually just to add a day to an existing reservation since we like to know where we will be. But I think we will be using Priceline a lot more in the future. OH, and to top it all off, my husband was so happy about the $53 Crown Plaza deal, that he suggested we get Premium annual passes this year instead of the Deluxe Pass. OK!
Originally Posted By tashajilek I loved the crown too. I stayed there in february and got it for $40 a night, so cant complain. Thats good to know that there are 4* near DL now. Sometimes with priceline you get smoking deals and other times you just cant seem to get anything in your price range.

LOL mickeymom. I got that rate in February so i wouldnt expect that rate during busy times. "Those hotels have been there for ages, but they used to be 3* on Priceline! " Sneaky!

They give you advice about bidding, free re-bids, etc. My latest score was $55/night at the Long Beach Hilton. Even though parking pushed it up to $70, it was still substantially cheaper than what my wife's aunty paid for her Hampton Inn (Seal Beach) room for the same night - $130. We went on a cross-country road trip last year and used Priceline to score stays at hotels like Marriots, Sheratons, etc, for cheaper than the nearby Super 8s, etc. You just have to make sure you read and understand the bidding process so you don't get a hotel at a different area in the city you're staying at.
