And - in a similar fashion - Disneyland does the same thing for guests. So it's not all that surprising that rockers like Manson would appreciate the work of another master fantasy-maker - Walt.

I can't remember how many theses were written by professors and students both in the 70s about how evil Disney was for America. And the same sorts of things are routinely written about people like Manson. He is weird as hell in my book, but so are most innovators and dreamers and creative types in this world. We are all free to accept those who appear to agree with our viewpoints on other matters and disagree with those who do not represent our views - but in the long run, it is the unique contributions made by certain dreamers amongst us, that will ong outlast the opinions certain "experts" had of these people in their time. Do I think Manson will be remembered like Walt? Of course not. He's not on that level. But not every dreamer becomes an icon. Not every animator became the world leader in animation. Not every Chinese philosopher became Confucius. Not every British rock band became the Beatles. But everybody deserves the chance to strive for the pinnacle of their life's work. However odd that work may be! (-:
