I would also be in the stores finding as much yummy freia chocolate as I could! lol

You should check out Nyhavn which is the oldest part of the CPH harbor (and on the way to the LM). It's nice to see if you're on a boat tour of the city, but not really worth going to see all by itself. Nyhavn is a nice area... now. When I was first there in '82 it was really seedy! But they've turned it around and it's great. Most of the tourist attractions aren't open after dark, with Tivoli the obvious exception. But great bars and restaurants, as has been said. Also great jazz clubs, if you like jazz. The only other thing I can think of is this: we did a night walking tour that we heard about in the hotel with a guy who dresses as Copenhagen's night watchman. He takes you around various placess and runs down their history, etc. I love walking tours, and I loved this. It was 8 years ago, so I have no idea if this guy still does it. Do you have only one night? I'd say Tivoli for sure, then.

I was listening to him, cringing because I knew what it *should* have sounded like, and then realized that the book I'd bought was Lonely Planet - a British company. Every time he was trying to say 'je', the pronunciation key used the phrase 'zher', as in the british pronunciation. Rob was saying 'zherrrrrr' Turned out to be not so helpful.

Originally Posted By LindsayC {Lol, Lindsay, but said without that hard North American 'arrrr' at the end of the 'har' part.} Very true! - it’s a very quick ‘har’ - and probably closer to a Scandinavian sound. My pronuciation is appalling in other languages (of which I can speak only a few words -Japanese being by far the worst) But I have spent sometime staying with Swedes on my Swedish visits- and my favourite peculiar pronuciation is for the town of Gothenburg, or as I was taught to say: Yacht-e-bor-i ...

I will share more info later on when I finish work today, but suffice it to say, you can see a LOT of inspiration for Disneyland and I think Mary Blair may have been inspired by a number of elements. It felt a little like I imagine Disneyland circa 1955. I will explain more later, but it felt like Disneyland, a little bit of World Showcase and a little bit of DCA - live music, fine dining, a Tapestry of Nations type parade and an Illuminations show on the lake. I'll explain more later, but fo now, I better get back to work.
