Sounds like the local officials got their first taste of super crowds. Glad the family and I didn't trek up there this week. We will wait until the holiday rush dies down.

Though, I will say that I've been in the MK on a capacity day... it wasn't TOO bad, nor was Disneyland on the 17th of July 2005.

For whatever reason, 7/17/05 really wasn't too crowded; I think that everybody heard about it and stayed home, fearing the worst.

That said, I can't really imagine being at a park like Legoland, where all of the rides load slowly and have low capacity, when it hits capacity. I know that their capacity is much lower than DL's (due to physical size and attraction count), but it still doesn't seem too fun.

On the first day of our visit (a Sunday) we got into the parking lot with no trouble, got through the gates with no trouble, and got to the back of the park while walking right on a number of rides. I think the longest we waited was about 30 minutes for their indoor attraction.

The visit on Monday (next day) was like we were in a new park. It took forever to get into the parking lot (serious issues with the way they route traffic into the toll booths) and the front gates lines were crazy. (No separate lines for passholders...which seems an easy fix.)

We could barely walk down the entry midway...there were so many people. Lines were averaging 30-45 minutes and it became unpleasant in a hurry.

You can have a lot of fun at Legoland without riding any rides at all but everything was so crammed that it was just uncomfortable and we ended up leaving early.

One other phenomenon that I'm only just considering is that of the thrill ride mecca of Florida. I suspect younger Floridians are more expose to thrill rides and more likely to ride them than perhaps at other Legolands. While the park is geared to the 5-12 age group I think a lot of the younger kids in Florida are going to be seeking out the thrill rides making for longer lines than perhaps the Lego officials were prepared for.

In addition, I spotted a significant number of visitors in the park who did not come with children. Not sure if they will continue to be a trend but that is also affecting wait times.

Again, all good problems as opposed to talking bout something like a Rock N Roll Theme Park that isn't generating any crowds.
