If someone gets offended, then I am perfectly willing to apologize, when I think it is warranted, which is now and then. I've had a lot of junk tossed my way. Most of it is undeserved, frankly. And because of that, I don't have a lot of patience dealing with people who think it is perfectly acceptable to be rude to me or that it is somehow my fault that they behave badly. The worst example of this was when someone said something to me that was so far over the line that I was even surprised, and the apology I got contained the statement "I am sorry you let me go that far." It's not my fault. But that person, while they did that, certainly was not a troll, either. People need to stop blaming others for their behavior, and stop calling people whose opinions or wording you disagree with to be "trolls." I may be obnoxious or whatever, but I am not a troll.

And insulting other people by calling them trolls could be consider troll-like behavior in and of itself. See? It works both ways. My suggestion is if someone says things you don't like, then don't bother talking to them. That works best. What works least best is engaging in a fight with them and saying they are lowlife for whatever reason. That generally makes you at least as bad as them on every level.
