There's no s, but it still doesn't sound like a real name for a park, it sounds like a working title for something still years away from opening. The new logo looks a little too cartoony for my taste, but I like how the emphasis is clearly on the "California" with the other words holding less weight. Still, the word "Disney" is getting bigger and bigger with every variation on the logo they do.

Originally Posted By WorldDisney Raise your hand, has ANYONE ever said the full name out loud? EVER??? 99.9% of people call it DCA or California Adventure. I understand the subtle change is to imply California is now a theme the same way Fantasyland is now a theme and not really suppose to be an accurate/historical look of California as before (and really they havent done that since 2002 anyway), so I can understand it. The cartoony look of the new logo represents the cartoony direction the park has gone in. So at leasts it fits with what the park is really about these days. I use to be convinced they would change the name altogether, but now when I see what they are doing, I dont think they should. It just bothered me they havent devoted any attractions to the Cali theme, but I must admit they are making the lands REALLY stronger. I'm surprised how cool PP is turning out to be. Its starting to look like a real area with a specific time and place. That said, when its done, it will have SSS, MFW, WOC, TLM and TSMM, ALL toon related and none of it in the original DCA. So I think the name is fine now and the logo certainly fits in more with the fantasy like theme of Cali and not the historical/contemporary look the park was originally going for so thats fine.

"The cartoony look of the new logo represents the cartoony direction the park has gone in. So at leasts it fits with what the park is really about these days." If you think the new DCA font looks familiar take a look at this: http://www.spotlight-online.de...tle2.jpg

On the other hand, at DCA, the new storyline is that the park is about California as Walt found it when he arrived. Although, if that's what they're getting at with the name change, it seems a bit strange. Even if that's the new story of the park, they tend to not emphasize Walt Disney the man too much - he certainly didn't want that done in the parks when he was around. Although, in DCA's case, maybe it's a good idea. The story of "come visit a park that's about how California was when Walt first arrived" is probably more compelling to most people than "come visit a park that's a modern-day caricature of the state that it's in." As far as it now being officially called a "park," I think that's the trademark lawyers finally having won a battle. For the same reason that Disneyland is a "Park" and Downtown Disney is a "District," it's important that California Adventure be the trademarkable name of a specific Park, rather than a generic description of a type of thing, lest someone else be able to use the same name.
