Variety is reporting documentary filmmaker Leslie Iwerks, granddaughter of Mickey Mouse co-creator Ub Iwerks, has started work on a Disney-commissioned documentary about Imagineering. It's planned to be finished in 2016 to coincide with the opening of Shanghai Disneyland. Iwerks also created the 1999 documentary "The Hand Behind the Mouse: The Ub Iwerks Story" about her grandfather.

Unless this documentary explains exactly how today's WDI projects get their approval .... I say - DON'T BOTHER!

But it should absolutely be divulged ... just how little input WDI really has .. and how much the Burbank offices have all the pull!

I began hearing the horror stories ... how political WDI has been in the early 90s.

And today ... makes the early 90s sound like a cake walk.

It's not the division it was when Walt was alive. BY FAR!

Tony Baxter's recent kick out on to the curb ... perfect example!

It's not just the corporate politics. WDI politics are bad, so are Disneyland's. In particular the Live Entertainment folks.
While Tony will be missed, he was one of the biggest purveyors of WDI politics there ever was. Followed closely by the Fitz.
