I guess it is easier for an actor to be made up and perform. Also, Hook actually climbs the rope from the rowboat, and I can't imagine that would be easy with a mask! Speaking of characters, the new Timon in the LK show is awesome! He twitches his nose and bats his eyelashes! Phenomenal development that really helps the character in the show.
