Marvin The Martian would be so proud of us!

    I am sooooo jealous!

I wasn't quite heavy enough to make the damn thing move by myself. I had to ride with my best buddy, David. We had our timing down to a science, about when to lean together, in what direction, etc.

    "Quick! Go left!!"

Everyone had golden ears on which brought a certain quality to the moring light reflecting of the ears and because you had to have stayed the night at DCA to be one of the first in the park you were surrounded by people who trully loved the place, and you could feel a magic in the air.

Not to mention staying overnight in DCA, I was tired but didn't want to fall asleep so I walked to park, milling around with other guests, many of whom were laying on the ground or on benches or fountain areas. It seemed like every fourth person was reading the new Harry Potter book that just came out the day before. Sometimes you'd come across a group of people chatting about Disney, it was like being in a crown of LPers.

As we go though the front doors he wakes up, turns his head and see a 3ft tall bronze statue and screams "MICKEY MOUSE" leaps from my arms, runs over and gives him a giant hug. That moment will be with me always.

For me, I still go back to two favorite moments:

The first is the first was during the first time I watched Fantasmic! The moment that Staemboat Willie came into view was just magical.

The other favorite moment was the first time I saw Disney snow. I was on Main Street, directly across from the clothiers (and that first time, it didn't even look like soap!). Also, magic.

It was on one of these visits that I stormed the park with my old junior high best friend. When we went in to see Captain EO, the sun was just starting to set. The magic moment arrived when we came out of the show, and it was now fully dark. With all of the incredible activity that the old Tomorrowland had, plus the neon lights, the sounds of MJ singing Another Part of Me (back when you could listen to MJ & not be creeped out!), and the entire evening of park storming in front of us, it was just such a cool vibe that it's always stayed with me.

We went to Mickey house - Mickey was on the porch - he saw Mickey - I have the picture - his mouth dropped and he just starred at him for the longest

He was so happy - When we left Mickey house my grandson looked at me and said

    Granny
"Thanks for bringing me to Disneyland"

and gave me the biggest hug.

    That moment was so precious.

My mom gave me money to buy candy. In the store, I decided on one of those mammoth lollipops that are about as big as your head. To my dismay, when I pulled it out of its holder, I dropped it and it broke.

I was crushed, but I took the now-fragmented lollipop up to the counter to pay for it. The lady at the counter asked me why I was buying a broken lollipop, and I answered "Because I broke it." She smiled at me and told me that it was ok, and I could go pick out another one. To me as a child, it was a BIG deal.

I think that was when I really realized Disneyland was something special.

Although, the first time seeing Fantasmic! or the first time I saw it snow on Main street are up there in my favorite memories too.
