New promenade gift shop area opens, giving China some waterfront retail space, adding to their main counter service renovation and bubble tea kiosk that popped up lagoon-side as well.

And while the store is open, I want to say the paint job isn't finished - it doesn't match the rest of the pavilion yet in color scheme, not that it has to.. but.. at it is, it looks more like blocks of base coloring. The main pavilion has heavy gloss on the tile accents.

It almost looks like the colors were taken from the Japan pavillion instead of the China one. Maybe they're just trying to highlight the diverse history and architecture of China, and felt that a gift shop that didn't really match the rest of the pavillion would do that best...

The main part of the pavilion is a temple: a sacred place, and thus has a very orate finish. A common shop in China wouldn't be finished to the same degree, so the plainer coloring would be more realistic.
