Even President Andrew Jackson documented the case I believe. Looks creepy, not sure I'll be brave enough to go see it. I wonder if TDG has heard of the Bell Witch? The town it happened in is close to the Kentucky border.

That said, the trailer was dissapointing, making it look like the familiar Bell legend will be the groundwork for a modern day haunting. the effects displayed in the preview reminded me too much of the trash horror films that people seem to eat up these days. This is especially sad because whether you beleive it or not the Bell Witch is one of the most unique ghost stories ever told. There is the framework for a rich story that apparently will be pushed aside for jump-a-minuet scares. I wish they wouldn't do that, because while those kinds of jolts are necessary, it's the psychological scares that stick with me. Anyone who has ever told ghost stories around the campfire knows what I mean (and I hope that includes everyone). Most likely this film will take the route that last year's Amityville Horror remake took, squandering story for a quick "boo" and a musical crescendo. For those who want to see a real ghost story, go and rent "The Others"!

It's almost as if they lifted Elenor's inter monologue directly from the novel! That said, I dare anyone one not to be chilled by the suicide depicted at the film's beginning. I really hope this Bell Witch deal turns out alright, but the trailer makes it look very formulaic.
