But has anyone got any idea on a rough time-frame for the expansion and its construction schedule.

    Storybook Circus: FY 2012

They're working really hard to meet this deadline so capacity isn't horribly affected with Dumbo & Snow White closed simultaneously. But in order to meet other goals, certain things have to close soon.

Snow White to Princessland - Fiscal Year 2012 (The closure will happen in 2012, but it may not open until FY 2013)

Mermaid and Beast - FY 2013

Both of these are actually ahead of schedule. So that's good news.

Dwarfs Mine Train - FY 2014

Cannot start until Dumbo closes. It also requires some work on the Utilidor... so keep your fingers crossed that this goes off on schedule.

By sometime in 2013, we should know if Disney World has their answer to WWoHP or if they need to step up their game. I'm hopeful, but not optimistic, they'll commit to something at either DHS or DAK (or both) sooner rather than later.

By that time we'll know about Universal's EXPANSION of WWOHP. So really, the question changes before Disney can even answer.

Is this a joke? How do they not have an answer yet?

Is there anything on the table after the two dark rides open in Fantasyland?

If the Fantasyland 'expansion' is all the answer WDW needs for something like WWoHP, then we'll know that Disney will never strive for greatness in Florida again ... because it just is a lot of pretty windowdressing a C-Ticket dark ride, a coaster ride that currently has some FAT issues and two Dumbo spinners instead of one.

All in the 21st century at the alleged No. 1 theme park in the world ... sigh...

The fact that they're still raising admission prices shows that their spreadsheets show WWoHP just isn't having that big of an impact on WDW's attendance figures.

As it turns out, SeaWorld is taking the hit instead. So really any Disney fan that wants investment at WDW needs to hope that SeaWorld gets its head in the game and creates a must-see attraction of its own (I hate to say it, but don't hold your breath).

So do the consumers ever wake up? (Will attendance ever decline?) If the parks continue at this pace, there will be tons of better places to drop a few thousand if you're looking for a magical vacation. (Maybe there already are...)

I agree that Sea World needs to get back into the game. I am not sure how they can do that. I dont think that Manta did much to increase attendance at the park. Does Sea World need to become a more ride oriented park? That might help. Maybe they need to become THE roller coaster park in the area. In some ways they are like some of the Disney parks in that they are bound by a theme that makes it hard to be extremely creative and entertaining.

If the coaster has enough show scenes, maybe it'll be a E Tic..?
