Are these any good? Any of you that have them, what are the ups and downs?

I could buy this one for $89.99:
Flip UltraHD™ Video Camera - Blue, 4 GB, 1 Hour (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL

Or, if I kick in $30 extra I could get this one:
Flip UltraHD™ Video Camera - Black, 8 GB, 2 Hours (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL

    What do you think?

    Should I buy one?

Is the extra hour worth $30?

Or should I just get $100 worth of highlighters, glitter and post-it notes?

I'm kinda unimpressed, honestly. The quality isn't very good and the lack of any control over settings is irritating. It's possible I don't know what I"m doing but I'm pretty techie and it just annoys me.

I actually think you're better off using an iPhone. All that said, it's convenient and works great if you don't need amazing quality or a lot of control over what you're trying to do.

They are small and really easy to use, so we let the kids take videos with it sometimes too. I would say it totally worth the $100 or so dollars, as long as you don't expect it to do all of the things a regular video camera will do.

Waterproof to 10 feet and very very shockproof. We lost one off a car at a track at over 80mph and it kept on filming. We still use it to this day.
