The pricing is a bit expensive, but the food is very good, the service is also good and it’s quite. You can have a conversation with your friends at this place. Because it is upstairs, most people don’t seem to know about it and you can get a seat without a long wait.

If you want a good cheeseburger or something Taste Pilots Grill has a good selection and variety.. (but if I'm graving cheeseburger I usually go to White Water Snacks in GCH for that or the grilled chicken). Still Taste Pilots is pretty good they also have good salads and bbq chicken, and I think ribs as well.. The snack place in Hollywood Pictures Backlot ('between takes' I think its called but not sure) has really wonderful and filling foccachia sandwich.. SeanYoda & I were able to split one of those and was more than enough! Corn Dog Castle over in Paradise pier was ok last time we tried it.. but that's about it. They (DCA) really don't have a lot of food places anymore. =( The ones they do have are rather mediocre at best.

Plus the quality is better IMO because it IS made to order. - Vineyard Room was wonderful, but we have not eaten there for many years (it was still Mondavi). The food was great and the atmosphere was very nice, although I personally think it is very odd to have an unobstructed view of PP from this restaurant instead of a nice lush view of Grizzly Peak, the waterfalls, the grapevines, etc. I think it is bizarre and backwards the way this was designed, but I may be in the minority on these boards... - Pacific Wharf Cafe has good bread bowl soups and salads, and the relatively new sandwiches are very good and a nice change of pace from usual theme park fare. I LOVE sourdough bread, so your mileage may vary... - I don't like corndogs, but my 6-year old does and I have to admit that the dogs at Corn Dog Castle are HUGE. - We tried the Wine Country Trattoria immediately after it opened (2002 I think?) and we weren't impressed. But I hear reports that it has improved (some say yes, some say no). My family still desperately misses H&D, where we ate fairly regularly while at the park. When they closed this place the impressive number of dining choices that opening-day DCA used to offer started its great decline. Today I'd have to say DL probably has more dining variety than DCA. A sad and dramatic turnaround IMO.

They have really tasty breadbowls with soups or salads. Everything else is kind of blah to me.

Other good places, I like the Cove Bar, great Lobster Nachos, Spinach and Artichoke Dip and their BBQ Chicken Pizza. The Pacific Wharf Cafe is another filling choice, basically bread bowls filled with soup or salad, along with a couple of other choices. The Wine Country Trattoria is the park's sit-down restaurant, reasonable prices and decent food. And as for Taste Pilots Grill, there are plenty of times when their is a line, and a group of 20 or so can produce waits of over 30 minutes for hot food. I have had long waits many times, but it seems like it is becoming an AP hangout and is more popular nowadays.

I know they cook to order, but the couple of times I've been there we just picked up breakfast and took back to our room...I've never gone there for lunch or dinner.

Corn Dog Castle - good sized Corn Dogs (if you like them). Wine Country Trattoria - good entrees, great to eat at after 8:00 PM on a night when the Electrical Parade is being performed. Sorry - I've only got three. Haven't tried any of the other places (ok - that's not entirely true - we ate at Ariel's Grotto 3 years ago - it was ok). Since we only tend to spend one of our days at DCA (and maybe another few hours hopping) we only have 1 or 2 meals here per visit (1 or 2 times per year).

I do hope they have a few shots at least from fess parker's vineyard. That i might go to see.
