In short, if a person were to park at Downtown Disney and use the bus system to reach a park--what would be the most efficient way of doing this? The question was posed by someone else. I suggested a bus ride to the Contemporary Resort, as that would give you the monorail and an easy walk to MK.

I'm sure someone else has a better plan.

You may want to check before you park there.

Need more incentive? TDR charges Y1,500 a day to park a single family car... that would be close to $13.

No way I would spend all of that time avoiding paying $9. If that's what WDW is about, then don't come. Lunch will cost more than $9. Oh, but then you can go back to your car via WDW bus, and drive off property to save a few bucks on lunch.

At the end of the day, you'll only spend 4 hours to save $20.

My comment was aimed at people who go there trying to get a free ride to the parks without having to pay.

If you went to DTD to shop and stuff, and decided to use a bus to go to the parks, that's different. But going out of your way to avoid paying $9 is C H E A P.

Someone on this site, can't remember who, said their off-site hotel charges a lot to use the shuttle. So my guess is that yes, those off-site hotel shuttles probably have to pay something to drop off guests. Although since they aren't "using" a parking place, just pulling in up front, they probably don't pay whatever the bus fee is every time they come through the gates in a day.

If you can afford to go shopping at DTD nowadays... you are definitely NOT cheap.

Memo to you. You do not have to pay to park at the resorts either. Just flash you driver's licence and the security hosts will let you thru. For free.

I doubt that the parking fees add a lot to the overall WDW income but it is a secured (for the most part) parking area that requires CM's to staff and therefore should charge something. If the shuttles have to pay anything the hotel or hotels that provide the service pay for it. The per person cost is probably pretty cheap. It wouldn't behove Disney to discourage paying customers for a few measly bucks.
