Has anyone done the tour? If so, how was it?

Even if it stunk please tell me it was great since I just spent $320 for 4 people to do this.

Maybe I'll send the kids with Grammy to Build a Bear EE at 9am to ease my guilt as I sneak out of the Hotel room at PPH at 7am.

    FYI
I had my AP Eticket print out in hand and they wouldn't give me the AP discount.
    She asked if I had a Disney Visa..do I? I have 2 different accounts.
So she gave me the $20 off per ticket using my Disney Visa.

I booked the segway tour as well for Sept 26th, just 2 of us (my bf and I), my mom will be watching my daughter that morning. I've asked about this on another site and have been told by 2 people (and read about it from another) that it was FUN FUN FUN. The only thing I am worried about is getting the tickets. We're told to get them the morning of the tour but I am going to try to get them the day before based on the advice of the people who have done it before. Also, they mentioned that you cannot have anything hanging around your neck (well anything heavy like a camera or bag) and will need to store it in a locker. They also were not allowed to carry the camera around their wrist if my memory is correct.

Must be 16 yrs old, if under 18 must have parent or legal guardian on the tour with you and must be between 100 - 250lbs. Everyone's whose done it that I've read about said it was great. I've seen the Segways around malls but never tried it or got near to trying one.

Hopefully another LPer will sign up!
    Hint! Hint!

The CM told me it would be best to pick up the tix from Guest Services a day or 2 before since GS doesn't open until 7am.
And you're supposed to be there at the letter O(maybe it's C?) by 7am.

My MIL will stay with the kids that morning and meet us in DCA at 10am.
I'm not even going to tell my DH about it until we get there on Sunday, I'll tell him how much it costs after we've done the tour.

When I called the CM told me that morning, my bf called and was assured that it was that morning at guest services. I bet him that they wouldn't be open at 7am, lookis like I am losing the bet (as a result I have to wear my Tinkerbell costume to dinner at olive garden when we drive up to Santa Clara, had he lost he would have dressed up as Peter Pan ahaha, he's 6' 4" anyone ever seen a 6' 4" Peter Pan? I haven't and most likely will not be able to now. We'll have to settle for a 5' Tinkerbell) See you there! =)

I was so looking forward to meeting you.

The Segway Tour was sooooo much fun!
Even my anti-Disney husband enjoyed it.
My SIL and niece were whining in the morning about getting up so early, but afterwards they were loving it.

We watched a short video about how to use the Segway and then we went out in the area in front of Monster's Inc and learned how to ride the Segways. It was much harder than I thought it would be.
But once you get the center of your gravity going it's easy.

The tour guides took us on a private tour around DCA and we even got to use the shortcut (backstage CM's only)between Bug's Land and ToT.
They told us little tidbits of info about the park...sooo worth the $$.
It was $99 but after my AP discount the tix were $79 each.

At the end of the tour we took a group photo with Paradise Pier in the background and we each received a Segway DCA pin.
I'm definitely doing it again with my Aunt in November.

For those of you that have done it, can we take pictures at any time or do they at least allow pictures at certain stops along the way? I do know that there is a group photo, but I would really like to get some candids of my friends.

    TIA!

You are definitely not allowed to take pictures while on the Segway. If you lose your balance it's not a good thing, also you have to keep 2 hands on the handle bars at all times. I tried to take a picture while driving my Segway when nobody was looking. It is not easy.

We did take a group photo at the end of the tour with Paradise Pier in the background. The Photopass photog took the picture. We ran out of time for her to do individual group photos, but our tour guide took a photo of our individual group as we were returning our Segways.
The cost of the tour does include a 5x7 group phots. At the end of the tour they escort you to the "Greetings" store at the front of the park and you wait for your photo to print. you also receive a Segway pin..very cool.
