Hopefully the wind is blowing the other direction…sorry Corona. And did the newscaster really say that it was lucky that Daylight Savings started today, as the firefighters have an extra hour to fight the fire before If that were true, let’s just take the batteries out of the clock and give the firefighters all day. Hello, time is relative. Whoever said that was a goofball.

And Anaheim Hills currently is a LARGE area, the area on fire is on the EAST end in the City of Orange, basically on the edge of the Riverside County border, and is more like 10 to 20 miles away from Disneyland.... Go look at the junction of the 91 and the 241, that is where the fire is located.....
Originally Posted By tiggertoo No, I think goofball is an accurate description. The sun isn’t setting noticeably later than it did yesterday. Applying an arbitrary number to the hour makes absolutely no difference in the amount of daylight available. If anything, it only means that the fire started an hour later according to the clock (for example, if the fire started at 10AM yesterday, that would have been translated to 11AM today). I also understand how large the area is (I used to work out there). But the question was essentially where Anaheim Hills was located, so I thought I’d give dlandfans a little more perspective on geographic area when we refer to the Anaheim Hills area. Anyhow, I’m glad to here the fire is in the most sparely populated area of Anaheim Hills where less people can be affected.

Also, the Santa Ana Winds and the very low humidity (less than 5%) are fore-casted for the next few days, creating a extremely high fire warning. Even if they can get the Windy Ridge Fire under control in the next day or two, another fire could easily happen in the area, which has a lot of open areas with lots of dry brush and foliage.

I'm not exactly worried because I know they would have called me if there were trouble, but I was just curious how close this fire was to that area. They live right by the wildlife refuge and golf course off the 91.
