8 October 2008: Pal Mickey to be discontinued

Pal Mickey, the interactive plush that was introduced in 2003, will be discontinued. Although Pal Mickey will no longer be available for purchase, the interactive plush will continue to operate in the four theme parks as they do today. Pal Mickey will continue to be sold until current stocks are depleted

With Nintendo DS supposedly replacing this waste of an initiative I hope WDI can finally get around to doing their jobs, creating theme park attractions, and quit justifying their time with this stuff.

Most families with special needs children find the work retarded offensive - I would think you working so closely with these programs would know that.

My own daughter got bonus points for Small Smedley - she like others got credit for making her and the many places she took her.

I do - maybe they know they are not parent material. Better to know that then to have a child that suffers because someone thinks they "should" have a child - either of their own or foster/adopt.

I do not have pets, I don't want children, and I have (as you would be aware from our DLP trip) a small furry toy dog that we take everywhere on holiday with us and take pictures with. It is fun, amusing and makes us giggle. I shall officially add myself to the list.

They are not hurting anyone, I know. But what started out as a little joke seems to have turned into an interesting debate.

I really wish Pal Mickey did work. It seemed like a really cool idea I was so looking forward to buying one for my kids, I was really disappointed when it didn't interact in the parks. All it was is an expensive cuddly toy that you could play games with. Such a shame. And again, to have to make 4 exchanges because it kept breaking was unbelievable.
