Even though I worked there well after Walt, his spirit was always there.

I have never really studied the history of the park too much, but this made it all come alive and showed me how important the past of the park is to its future.

From what I've heard, I think they basically had the DVD's finished for the 50th, including the Julie Andrews intros, and may have slightly modified them to put it out now. It's a shame they couldn't have connected this with the 50th, as that would have been a great reason to put the DVD out, and I'm sure a lot more people would have bought it.

You may have ridden them a million times, but they never get any less fascinating and are just downright fun. Likewise, this DVD serves as a great reminder of what is so special about Walt Disney....and Disneyland. Nothing particularly new, but something that is worth seeing, and remembering, time and again.

He would just sit on his duff behind a desk and say, Tear down that ride or make that turkey of a movie. He was not a creative genius that added anything to Disney on his own. Give us all a break!

The thing that really makes this DVD worth it to me is having a restored "Disneyland U.S.A." featurette. Just having beautiful aerial shots of the park in 1956 is wonderful for historical sake. We may not learn anything new, but we get a great view of the park in it's infancy, and to me that's priceless. The time lapse stuff is also worth the price of admission.

I loved the DVD. It's a great thing to have if you don't get to go to Disneyland very often.

His parts must have been shot while he was still CEO. He should legitimately be in the film as anyone else, and I would say that he even should be in it if it were to be shot today now that he is a former CEO. In those two segments I saw, however, I was glad to see that neither Pressler, Harriss, nor Barry Braverman were included.
