    1. Tarzan - When Kerchak and Kala's baby is killed by Sabor, I was saddened to the point of tears, even the second and third times I saw the film. Even though this happens very, very early in the story, the look and reaction of Kala speaks volume as to the loss of a child.

    2. Monsters, Inc. - The entire scene towards the end of the film when Boo has to be returned to her world frankly had me crying like a little kid. From Mike's instruction to Boo to "go grow up", to Boo's plaintively questioning Sulley with "Kitty?" once Sulley has managed to put her to bed, to Sulley's resigned response of "Kitty has to go", and then the look on Boo's face to that answer. Then, as if that wasn't bad enough, after Sulley disappears into the closet, Boo gets up out of bed to go to the closet looking for her playmate, only to open the door and find nothing but the contents of her closet, no "kitty" inside.

Pass me the box of tissue, please.

Course the sorriest moment of all came in 1985 when I was forced ta share a screen with my two looney sisters, Orddu and Orwen!! The tender moments between those two reminds me of a real life child who is told he was adopted for the first time. And for just a split second, you're reminded of all the possible reactions Tarzan could have had--both good and bad. Yet he reveals his loyalty to Kala which I find very cathardic.

Remember the scene where the Walrus ended up eating all those baby oysters?! What a tragic ending for such sweet little dears as they all were! Gathered around the dining room table, thinking they were about to have supper, not in the least bit aware they were about to be the main course! That blob of a creature who gobbled them up should have been arrested and convicted of CHILD abuse! To this day I can't look at a clam shell without weeping uncontrollably. It usually takes a Krispy Kreme donut to lift my spirits.

Most touching moment in recent memory for me came at the end of Monsters Inc. when Sully opens Boo's repaired door and hears the word "Kitty?"...the smile on Sully's face just made me cry.

Michael Eisner's and Disney's shabby treatment of Musker, Clements and Treasure Planet is pretty sad, as well.

I don't understand why it's not doing so good. But yeah, the scene when his father left was definitely a tear jerker for me.

I would like to suggest one other more recent scene that I was surprised wasn't on your list. Toy Story 2, the musical montage when Jessie is reliving her memories growing up with Emily, while Sarah McLachlan sings "When She Loved Me." The scene ends with Jessie being left behind in the Salvation Army drop box. Not a dry eye in the house.

    Keep up the good work.

Lady and the Tramp: The dog pound scene--can anything be sadder than seeing a bunch of abandoned dogs crying because they have no humans to love them?

The Little Mermaid: She's unable to speak, but she can still cry, and she does, as her heart shatters to pieces as her darling Eric's wedding ship departs. She doesn't know he's under a spell.

There are more, of course, but Jim and most of the other posters got them already. Good work. I just added a couple that I thought needed adding.
