I just read Cole Geryak's article on the WDW Animation attraction. I think perhaps the version I first encountered was some intermediate phase. As I recall, it began with Back to Neverland. This was followed by a brief lecture/demonstration/Q&A with an actual Disney animator (possibly involving Mushu), then a look, through windows, into the animation studio (it was still in use, but in decline, as I recall, and I think I was there on a weekend). As I recall, by the time I returned, it had gone to the DCA version, with a well-coached CM portraying an animator.
