Very good, but lacks the pizzaz I love of a good American band. But all these different styles give us so much more to appreciate.

I am a bit of a snob, aren't we all? And yep, maybe there is some negativity in my posts at time. But I bet you rarely read the Paris threads where I try to help everyone have the best time. Nor the times where I do come out in praise. Not that I have to defend myself to you that maybe I am going through one of the roughest times in my life with long term conditions, 2 kid brothers diagnosed with dabilitating diseases that will leave them in wheelchairs, bailing my folks out when we are currently limping on in the recession, and a very hard new role that is designed to save lives in a very political environment. For 9 years I have had friends on these boards. Taking the rough with the smooth. On everyone's side. That's what a community is about. But rather than moan about individuals, I put myself out there. Some people like it, some don't, and when things get firey, the excellent admin team on this site bring it (and a few times me) into line. So if you want to debate, I'm up for it. Wanna make friends? It could happen. Want to ignore me? Go for it, it's your purogative. But as for the letting people vote, it was down to the fact I was getting the sense that some were not comfortable for me to be around. So I gave them a chance to speak up. Sadly, no one had the courage to or they are happy I am here. I don't owe you an explanation, but I thought it might help give some perspective.

Even though they play some of the same music as British brass bands, there is a difference in their sounds. DW and I once took a rental car tour of England, Wales and Scotland. It was quite common, while taking an evening walk in villages to come across the local community band in rehearsal or concert. I especially like the "Bones Apart" quartette because it is women playing.

I was starting to wonder. Thank you dear friend, I was simply trying to point out the different styles. I am glad you understand. I think it is great to appreciate the different brass styles used in the US, compared to the UK, then the Prussian style or Italian Style, and the emerging Japanese school. All subtly different but very moving. But yes, hot, quality musicians are always great. I am quite partial to chellists.
