Subdivisons and even a WalMart, I kid you not.Apparently, they aren't damaging to the local battlefields like a resort would have been ... 60 Minutes did a piece on the whole thing maybe 5-6 years ago. Disney shouldn't have given up on this one.

Didn't the battle itself do that? I'd rather be standing on a theme parks' merchandise-row rather that worry about occupying the same ground where people stood right in front of a cannpn.

I don't see any distinction between suburban sprawl and a theme park. Besides that, there already is a Manassas Battlefield national park.

The first spot I heard was just outside of Rhome, TX on 287. Then it was Ross Perot Jr. had sold his land in Westlake, TX. Then in was for sure going to be in Weatherford TX. Until I see a castle going up, or Disney putting out an official press release saying they bought land in Texas, I wouldn't believe a word.
