This is like his last few CD's, remakes of oldies but goodies. You can sample the songs on iTunes.

Even 15 years ago, Diana's concert consisted of her preening, strutting, changing costumes, and running long monologues about how wonderful she is -- interrupting herself ocassionally with a half-spoken, half-sung performance of a shortened, speeded-up version of one of her hits. It wasn't that I caught her on a bad night. I saw her on two different tours. It was apparent both times that the woman was completely out of touch, and also that she lacks the ability to sing anymore (or is just too lazy to do it). Gladys, on the other hand, was WONDERFUL. The woman worked to give us our money's worth. And she sounded GREAT! Equally impressively -- and I know this will sound corny -- she was such a warm, engaging, sincere person that she made you feel as if you were sitting in her living room during the show. I will listen for Diana's duet with Rod, though. It's always amusing to hear Miss Ross' attempts to upstage her singing "partner."

You'd be surprised how warm and caring that old coot's voice can be.

DONNA did the standards as far back as 1978 in her "Live and More" album..when she performed "My Man Medley", which you Lisanne would have heard this past summer because she performed it again at this year's concert tour. Ask I57...he was in Jimmy Dorsey Heaven. Now..covering standards is something I would love to have DONNA do in a full lenght album. That would be AWESOME!!!

Her voice is powerful and her demeanor humble. I *LOVE* her a lot. She gave us the very best Bond theme song ever produced (sorry Ms. Bassey) and single handedly elevated "That's what friends are for" from trash to art, which was not an easy feat concidering she was totally wasted in that record. She is right up there with DONNA.

I couldn't agree more. His rock career is dead in the water, has been for some years now, so he's trying the trendy thing of doing oldies. I didn't realize he was on his fourth album of this tripe. What it means is that by doing a Duets album he's already looking for a gimmick to boost the gimmick. Talk about desperate. Did I mention these recordings aren't any good?
