Personally, I think ghosts are kewl.

If I lose something I ask the ghost to find it and it does! I remember the first time I was looking for a certain shade of blue thread I needed to sew a dress and I couldn't find it and I had cleaned my kids floor so I could vacumm. There was nothing on that floor. Then the next day in the middle of their floor was the blue thread! About a month ago my son lost his ipod touch and I looked everywhere but couldn't find it. Then my son was playing his xbox and something tapped his foot. He looked and it was his ipod. I know it wasn't there before because I had looked.
Sometimes things will be knocked off the counter.
Last week my salt shaker fell off my kitchen counter and it wasn't on the edge.
It used to freak me out like when my flying tinkerbell starting swinging by it self in the middle of the night. I'm used to it now.
Ever since we moved into my townhouse I have been facinated by ghosts.

    Hey now...... :)

I lived in my grandparents' house after my grandfather passed away in 1993. I had similar experiences with my grandfather that seafairy1622 describes. He even appeared to me once very briefly. THAT was unusual. The house I'm in now we bought in 2003. It was built in 1943 and we're only the second owners. We most definitely had ghosts for a long while. Clayton, the "man of the house", built a workshop onto the back of the garage here. He built his own workbench, which I've kept. I have that along with many of my grandfather's tools and my great uncle's (my grandad's brother) tools. When we first moved in, there was a very real presence in the garage/workshop/ bonus room that was also added on to the garage, to the point where it would get very cold in spots. The more we've improved the place since we've been here, i.e. new roof, paint, plumbing, landscaping, that kind of thing, the less we've noticed. Every now and then I'll ask Clayton if we're doing okay. His wife, Olive, gets consulted by my wife about the rose bushes Olive left behind that we've managed to maintain.

It was June 1986, and although cooler than Central California, it was still summer. We stayed at my step dad's parents's house for a few weeks. There were cold spots. But I thought they were just draughts. Well, more to come on that.

One night, my mom awoke and saw a woman looking at her, while tending plants by the window. My mom screamed at her to get out. And she disappeared. It woke my dad,and he asked what happened. She explained (though feared he would think her crazy), and all he said is "I believe you, tell my dad what you saw in the morning".

That next morning at breakfast, we went down, and mom was quiet. Dad encouraged her to share her story. She then proceeded to describe what happened. My grandad then asked a few more questions about her looks. and then went away and came back with a picture. It was the woman mom saw, the previous owner who had broken her neck falling down the stairs. The cold spots I felt was where she died. I was cynical about it before, but that convinced me since.

And since, we have encountered Romans, Vikings and lots of modern ghosts. Also I have lived in two new builds, both also haunted. We found out "Bill" was likely a viking, the ground our house was built on as a Viking/Saxon battleground 1100 years ago. And in our current new build, we have felt a presence and seen things (also things move around occassionally).

I have noticed spirits seem most active around pregnancy, illness and babies.

And I will never forget the chair at Gt Ormand Street Children's hospital that rocks itself. Or the ghosts of my old University and the castle next door.

Three days before my Daddy died, my Grandma Labuda (who died 10+ years prior) appeared in a dream to my big brother Frank and told him to get home because his Daddy was dying. When he told my Mom about the dream the next morning, Mom confirmed that the kitchen where Grandma was was the kitchen as it appeared in that house when Frank was born, and up until he was 3 when it was remodeled.

Then three days after my Daddy died, I happened to be at his workbench in the garage grabbing a screwdriver or something. Shortly thereafter, I looked in the backyard and saw Daddy working in his garden... he was wearing one of his favorite "work" shirts - a short-sleeved red, white, and blue plaid, as well as an old faded pair of jeans (also "work" clothes for him - he was suit and tie M-F but on the weekends (except for the suit & tie he wore to church), he was a country boy.

Right around the time my niece was born (18 years ago), my oldest brother woke up to see Daddy sitting on the corner of his bed.

Oh, and not "ghost" stuff, per se, but more weirdness: starting with Papa (my Great-Granddad on my Mom's side (it's pronounced Pa-paw but he spelled it Papa in my baby book)), and every blood relative since over the last 35 years or so, there's one particular dream (nightmare) that I have the night before a relative of mine dies. Creepy as hell, but, yeah, it happens. Not all direct ancestors, though, as it's even happened with Daddy's cousins who passed away in the last couple of years. I'm pretty sure that SOMEONE in my family is sending me those messages; I just can't figure out WHO since Papa died when I was about 4 and that's when the dream first came. As far as I know, though, it only goes up to 2nd cousins, or whatever parent's cousins are. I guess maybe I should ask my Mom sometime who died right BEFORE Papa. Though, for all I know, I could have had the dream before then... I just know for SURE I remember it when Papa died. Then Uncle Dokey, Aunt Sally, and Grandma... luckily I only had it a few times each in the 80s, 90s, and just twice in the 00s.

And I cannot tell you what happens in the dream, but when I wake up, I know someone died or is going to die. I have never had that omen before and it not come true. Hate it.

Yeah, I am not fond of it, but it's something I accept. It's part of who I am, and the way I see it is this: I'm lucky that I'm never caught off guard.

Oh, and regarding the dream my big brother had with Grandma Labuda in it - his plane landed about 2 hours before Daddy died, and he and I were holding hands and holding Daddy's hands when Daddy passed. 6:13 pm on 17 Sept 1990. Worst damned day of my life to date.

Not really. Oddly, other than my Daddy, I usually hear the day after they died that it happened. Only times I have a good guess as to WHO exactly it will be is that when someone has ALS I always assume (and so far, four times) have been right that it's the person with ALS who's going to die. I'm just glad that I was able to be there with my Daddy and help make sure he didn't die alone.

I will always wonder, though, if I should have told my Mom that I had that dream the night before. Then I don't think she'd have gone to the pharmacy to get the morphine refill that had her away from the house when he died.

Then again, maybe she needed to not be there. I don't know, but I'll always wonder if I did the right thing in not telling her.

I'm just glad that Daddy had gotten last rites again that day (he did every day for the last four weeks or so of his life), as that was very important to him because of his faith. Late rites were done around 5:00 and so I'm certian his soul was as clean as it could be 73 minutes later.

She descibed what she looked like to me and it was her.
My daughter has also seen a woman in her room in the middle of the night watching her and my son.
We smell carnations sometimes, that was my mom's favorite flower.
My 19 month old grandson has put his hands up to be picked up with nobody standing there and then like watching someone move away.
It's nice to know she comes around.
