I will not write about the meets as they are well documented on their own threads with pix even. But we did a lot between meets. On Sunday we met up with our friend Rebekah, aka Rivkah86 . Toontown sounded good so we headed there and had a go on Roger Rabbit and then went on Small World. We were all hungry by then so we went to Rancho del Zocalo and had dinner. After that we rode Pirates again (and got soaked), and then did HM. We wanted Bekah to see the fireworks from Small World so we headed that way. We rode Star Tours (I still love that ride) and went to Honey...Audience. I had not seen that for a long, long time so I enjoyed it. Then we went to wait for the fireworks. I just love that view of the fireworks, I love the projections. We were all beat by then and headed out of the park. (If some of this is out of order Bekah, please remember we are old and forgetful.) Now, I have been chasing that blasted Mickey Head balloon all up and down the west coast just missing it. We got up at 6AM Mon. to get to the park early. Though I had planned to be at Disneyland on July 17 for the 51st I totally spaced on it being Monday. We got through security and I was saying, “Why are the lines so long on a Monday morning?†Imagine how I felt when I looked over and saw that long sought after balloon, FLAT. At that time I hoped maybe they were just then filling it but, alas, when I went to see it they were folding it up. Some things are just not meant to be I guess. I had figured there would be a rope drop but when there wasn’t and we saw the stage set for a presentation we stopped and waited and watched. We enjoyed it even though we missed our usual Matterhorn early-before-the-lines-form ride. Tuesday we had to ourselves except for the Billy Hill meet. My daughter has gone on and on about the Minnie and Friends Character breakfast for 2 years so we decided to do that. It was so much fun and well worth the price. The food was delicious and there was a constant flow of Mickey waffles. Suffice it to say we hit every ride in the park at least once. I have two special stories. My husband just loves the Circle D petting zoo. There was nobody there except us and the CM so we struck up a conversation. When we asked him how he liked his job he said he loved it for three reasons: 1. There is shade and usually a breeze. 2. He does not have to wear polyester. (He was in jeans and a western shirt.) 3. He can lean. (He showed us an example of CM’s at what I guess would be parade rest and then leaned against a fencepost.) He was great. On Wednesday while having breakfast in our hotel I suddenly started to pout. DH said, “We don’t have to leave yet.†I was already getting my PDD knowing it was our last day. We went to DL until 10 and headed for DCA. Second special story: We got to talking to a family ( mom, dad, son and daughter) from NJ. (If no one has noticed we do this a lot.) Well, they were total newbies to SoCal and started asking us what we recommended in the park. The mom got out her map and started circling things and writing down times. We got through the gates together and we told them to follow us to Soarin’ so we could show them how to get a fast pass. There was no line so we just went standby. I told the CM at boarding that we were willing to wait for front row seats. He turned to the kids and said, “Only for a smile, can you smile?†We all smiled and they got good seats for their 1st Soarin’ experience. They wanted to ride Grizzly Rapids so we took them there and showed them how to get and use a FP. The daughter, who had told me I was her new best friend, was disappointed that we were not getting them but we had to hit the road by 2PM. We went on Screamin’ together and I told her she could be my honorary granddaughter for the day. We all took pictures of each other and I hope we were able to enhance their day with our advice. We went back to DL for coffee and a pastry, went on SW and *sigh* hit the road. We had FP for Indy but passed on that as it was still an hour away and we had to get home. Bright side: our December trip is booked and paid for!!! >>Thanks for letting me hang out w/ you and Rod... it was an awesome weekend!)<< Letting you?!? We were amazed that a young, pretty girl would be willing to hang with two old people. Just wish we could have seen the whole family.

I did however, attend a few meets when I was in Seattle last spring. I have really enjoyed meeting so many of these people and putting faces to names. (Kala told me you are really nice and friendly.)
