No name has been given yet. Both mom and baby are doing well. The new baby follows the successful births of Tufani, a male born in 2003, and Kianga, a female born in July 2004, both of whom can be seen on the safari. The newest bundle of joy was conceived through natural breeding vs artificial insemination, as I believe both other babies were conceived. This milestone is another huge success story of Disney's Animal Kingdom and its care/staff. While this comes on the heels of the death of another baby elephant and her mother earlier this year, its truly is a reflection of the great care and attention the animals get at AK.
