They have a processional down the parade route before both showings each night (the second time is only down Main Street), so you might be able to catch that for the performance you don't see. They sell seats for the event, so there will be a lot of chairs blocking off the main portions of Town Square. They do have standing room on the sides, but that tends to fill up fairly quickly. As a geneneral rule of thumb, if you can wait to go to the second showing of the night, it will be a lot less crowded, as it's later and there isn't as much time for people to claim spots (works for Fantasmic! too).

That discouraging news said, remember this: It's mostly an auditory thing, and it's up high. The last time we went we got there 15 minutes before it started, and wiggled ourselves in in front of the Bank of Main Street. From there, I saw most of it, all the narrators and stuff. I did have a blocked view of the "hearld trumpets" on the roof of Main Street station (trees in the way). Unless you are willing to either invest lots of money or lots of time getting the very very best spots I wouldn't worry too much about it. Show up about 20 minutes before it's schedualed to start and figure out where you can fit. You'll have a good view that way. (Maybe you want a spot near the back, so you can escape easier if the girls get restless.) And I second Ferret Astros, for those of you planning a late evening in the park, the second showing is less crowded than the first.
