I say this because I thought DL now exclusively used optical scanning of the barcodes for APs at the turnstiles at FP machines and not the mag stripe.

I took it to the AP center on Main Street (at the Bank at the time, now it's at the Plaza), and they taped it up so it looked nice, and gave me a new one for free. If you still have the pass, I would think they could do it for no charge.

However, if you have one of the fancy designs on it that you get when you renew through the mail or online, you won't get that when they give you a new one. It will just be the standard castle in the clouds design.

Once per year, if you don't have your AP but have gov't ID, they'll give you a day pass to get into the parks that day at no charge. This covers the situation where you simply forget your AP at home that day as a courtesy. But once you use up your once-a-year courtesy, then you must pay for a replacement card should the same thing happen again.

And, I think replacement cards are at least $20 these days (except probably for the OP's situation where the card is damaged and not lost).

Its not really because the card costs 20 to print its more so that you wont do it again.

To answer your question, they always swipe it at the restaurants (I have the Deluxe and don't get the merch discount) and that's where it's failing.

They've had a 10% merch discount for months now (20% for Premiums). I heard they extended it til September, but I haven't tried it for about a month now, so I don't know for sure.

Got our copy of "Backstage Pass" this week. It says 20% for Premium and 10% for others has been extended through the end of Sept.
