I was afraid it might come out of her pay if she forgot to charge, but I guess it didn't matter! $4 for a cup of coffee, though..hmmmm...I might have been tempted to not return! She accidentally gave us back the amount of our meal instead of just my change after AP discount. She was very grateful when I pointed out the mistake. (She also gave me a hug which was worth far more to me than the few dollars extra I had gotten back in error.)

Then, one of the kids I was with said someone had come back to the game looking for a wallet. I went back to the girl at the counter and I saw her leafing through the wallet, when she saw it was me she stopped quick with a guilty look on her face and put the wallet back under the counter. I told her someone had just come back to the area where it was lost and asked if they had asked her about it and she said they hadn't. I found that hard to believe and I'm sure the girl at the counter was going to end up with the wallet. I was so mad at myself for not looking at the ID and just finding a way to return it to the person. It seemed strange for me to look through someone else's property & I just wanted to turn it in to the management. If something like that ever happens again, I'll take care of returning it myself, though.

It had several hundred dollars in it, and he gave us $20 for our trouble (no trouble at all!) In a separate incident, we found a lady's purse in the grocery store parking lot in a cart. We were on our way in to eat at the cafe inside, so we went through it to look for ID. We found a cell phone, and looked for "home" and called it. She answ3ered it, and we told her that we found her purse. She came back to the store, and proceeded to ask us, as she saw us eating, "So, did I pay for lunch?" I was SHOCKED and very upset at her ungratefulness. We could have left it in the cart and someone could have taken it and everything in it and she could have never seen it again.

There was however a Versatel slip. I should have taken it to the bank. Thankfully, I feel much more comfortable with DL's Lost & Found. I felt funny leafing through it too but if that's what it takes to get it back to it's rightful owner, I'll do it. The wallet I found at Bugs Life belonged to a local High School student. $200.00 is a really nice meal for me but maybe weeks of saving for him. The bottom line is still, it wasn't mine.

(telling me I had the wrong #) I called Verizon to stop the service when I realized they were messing with me and had to buy a new phone. For the next two months my bill was about $40 higher b/c during the 1/2 hour or 40 min. the jokers had my phone, they had downloaded about 10 games. They never got to play them, the poor dears. lol Imagine if one of them had taken that lady's purse, Pirateprincess! She was so lucky and didn't appreciate it. Years ago, my husband found a wallet at work and it had $400 in it. He looked through and found the DL and returned it to it's owner. The lady offered him a $5 reward. He said "No thanks" and she said Ok. Never thanked him or anything. $400! A thank you would have been nice!

I am so happy to find so many honest people here on my favorite site.

I then thought maybe we should take it to the police department and again decided to try to do a little detective work on my own. I'm sorry but in these times I just don't trust many people. If I could return it myself at least I'd know for SURE that it was returned. We only found one name in it and a phone # which we called. Sure enough it belonged to a little boy of about 8 yrs. It was his birthday money and his mom had taken him to WalMart to buy something with it. He had become so consumed with everything in there he'd set it down to look at things and forgot. His mom said he was heartbroken but they were so excited that someone was returning it. That little boy even offered my son half of it as a reward. Of course it was turned down. But it felt good for all of us to see his happy face. He was very thankful as was his mom.
