So remember if you want to see the Little Mermaid ride built just write Imagineering a letter expressing how you feel. I know I will.

I think we can all guarantee that this ride may get built. Of course, this also means that it may not get built. If it turns out that the outcome is not one of the above options, I may give each of you a dollar.

Thumbs down on the Little Mermaid Ride.

I already think Disney ruined DCA with too many "Bugs" rides.... a 3-D movie, bumper cars, slow and short train, a barely operable Lady Bug spinner, and the tall kiddie spinner.

    No more sameness.

Little Mermaid can go in DCA's Pier OR Disneyland's Fantasyland (Motorboat area is looking for a new attraction...)

    Hey Skel .. buddy....

he also ~confirmed~ Dumbo Circus and Discovery Bay around 1980.

He's just an imagineer .. with people above him making the "yes" or "no" decisions.

Actually the ride wasn‘t to be full of Audio-Animatronics - we recently interviewed Tony about the project for the next issue of Tales from the Laughing Place (and we were given some superb model shots)

Tony talked about what BV wanted to do when creating the ride thru:

“They also wanted to fully animate the characters but I wanted to go back to the way it would have been in ’92 as it was in the vein of traditional cycle animation of our dark rides without fully functioning Audio-Animatronics©.â€

One thing that wouldhad made this Little Mermaid attraction is the dual view of both the upper level of the dark ride while riding the bottom level. It would have really given the illusion of being underwater.

The fiber optic ripple effects and the lazer effects to create the water surface would have definately have been a wow factor. Imagine what could be done after more than a decade of improved technology

Not sure if it would mesh with a family Little Mermaid ride, but I agree I would like to see WDI in the future try to adopt something like that into a managable-capacity attraction.
