If DCA gets its first "emersive" E-ticket....we are in good shape. If we get more Heimlich 20-second train rides or never ending empty lagoons and elevated tracks at Disneyland....we are not in good shape. We'll see......and we'll find out soon enough. Here's to a half-full glass!

In spite of what other folks may think, this site gets regular and frequent visits from decision makers at WDE, and you are guaranteed it will find lots of readers. Wheter it manages to influence those readers is unknowable, frankly. With luck it will open a dialogue and wake up the remaining believers. Critical as I may be, I too still remain optomistic.

You've written with objectivity that should be appreciated (in spite of what cries to the contrary the article may stir)and a personal perspective which deserved being revisited regularly.

    A terrific job!

Thanks. Tell people where they can find it.

Thanks. Theme park design companies are often special places, and WDI has been very much so. Walking the halls of a place like that can be inspiring to someone who doesn't do it regularly.
    A terrific job!

    Of course!

Thanks. Disney can either be more like AOLTimeWarnerTurner or it can synergize its resources unlike any other company can. As a shareholder and a fan, I'm hoping for the best.

If that is the case, then let me say a thank you to all the creative talent behind the park. I love and support your work.

While visiting the parks, I find myself getting lost in the immersive environments as my sense of "play" is encouraged by your designs. Wonderful.

Theme park design is an art form. A celebration of creativity. Why should it be any less valid than anything other "art". I mean - what *is* art anyway.

Sometimes I feel like I am participating in some type of "living theater" or visiting an immersive art installation like the ones found in the Dia in NYC.

By the way ... in case any of you wonderfully talented people forgot, please remember that what you do MATTERS. Your work has profound effect on many people - more than you realize perhaps. How many times have you heard of a child's DYING WISH was to visit a Disney park. I maintain faith in your art form and talents.

Thank You and keep it up!

on a completely different note .... what the hell happened to Walt Disney Studios in Paris? (except the entrance and Studio 1). Was that blind intern day?! damn. The original Disneyland Paris imagineers should have those designers flogged for building such an embarrassment next to that beautiful masterpiece.

(Well unless Ken somehow morphs and starts writing bad articles)

It's never actually said in ANY of the episodes OR the movies until Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country". Check out the Klingon "courtroom" scene.

As far as the article goes - good job as always! I keep hoping that the Disney Co.'s investors will wake up to the fact that the parks are attracting people NOW based on the reputation the parks earned in the PAST. But, without major re-investment, the attendance they garner in the FURTURE will reflect the (tarnished) reputation they're earning NOW. (You think people don't go home complaining about a Sub Lagoon full of trash? A nearly attractionless Tomorrowland? Major ticket prices for less-than-major attractions at AK or Epcot? Of course they do!)
Oh well, perhaps someday a rich Prince will come and pour the kiss of $$$$$$$ into the company and wake the Sleeping Beauties that are the U.S.' Disney Theme Parks.

It was just like my first visit to Disney World in 1989 when I first got the disney bug. I feel that the 2 big mistakes new parks like Animal Kingdom, Disney studios Paris & especially California adventure have made compared to disneysea are that there's not enough disney elements & the skimping on the budget is too obvious. A classic example to me is how Disney MGM in Florida has got so much better since these two elements have been added & improved.
