I have had two recurring dreams that stick out most in my mind.

Growing up, I would OFTEN have a dream that our family was traveling down the highway, with my dad driving, and all of a sudden it would turn into this horrible rollercoaster--dips and turns and huge hills we'd go plummeting down. (Anyone see Polar Express? Exactly like that, where the train went out of control.) My stomach would flip over again and again, and I'd be terrified. I probably had those dreams for 20 years. They were self-explanatory, really, if you knew my dad. They stopped once he passed away, 15 years ago.

The other dream I have had my entire life is one where I find myself suddenly living in a mansion--always a very elaborate neighborhood with 3- or 4-story homes that are just ENORMOUS. I am usually standing outside and looking up at my house when I realize, Wow, that's MINE! I have had these dreams since I was a little girl. Whadya think?

    And what about everyone else???

I'm so tired of these types of dreams.

I have a fake Disneyland that I always dream about. I have dreams of about 5 different parts of the park. They are always the same and they don't look one bit like the real Disneyland.

Over the past year or so, I've started dreaming about my favorite band. In the dreams I rarely have any communication with them...they're usually off to the side of what I am doing. If I do talk with any of them, I usually feel like I am annoying them or that I've embarrassed myself. One time I dreamed I broke into their house but couldn't figure out why I had done such a stupid thing. I was glad when I woke up. LOL

And of course, there are the 7 or 8 Dog the Bounty Hunter dreams I've had in the past few months. I don't know where they come from because I usually have them on days when I haven't watched his show at all. My husband thinks they are hilarious.

I also have dreams about celebrities but they are almost always people I haven't spent anytime thinking about. The other day I dreamed I was get married to the new James Bond guy. I think I had spent about 2 minutes in my entire life thinking about him and even then, it was just a brief thought. It's really weird how one quick flash of something can worm it's way into your head and create elaborate dreams.

    3) Being in a frightening situation and unable to turn on a light, scream, or run away.

    4) Flying dreams. I finally figured out that by flying I could get out of the situations listed in dream number three.

Sadly, dream #4 doesn't occur all that often any more. After 50 years of life experiences you finally start to realize that you ain't going to fly no matter how hard you try.

I also have dreams where I'm walking from room to room or place to place with no rhyme or reason. I'm always looking for something or someone and feeling lost and sometimes stressed. In these dreams I usually see old familiar faces (either family or old school mates) and we only look at each other. We don't speak to each other.

My most common reoccuring derams are the ones where I'm trying to get someplace (work, to catch a plane, a meeting) and I just can't do it. Something always pops up that hinders me from getting there and I have to try and figure out another way to get there on time. I hate those dreams. They're very stressful. LOL!

    "I'm Flying"

Flying dreams fall under a category of dreams where you become aware that you are dreaming, known as lucid dreaming. Many dreamers have described the ability to fly in their dreams as an exhilarating, joyful, and liberating experience.

If you are flying with ease and enjoying the scene and landscape below, then it suggests that you are on top of a situation. You have risen above something. It may also mean that you have gained a different perspective on things. Flying dreams and the ability to control your flight is representative of your own personal sense of power.

Having difficulties staying in flight indicates a lack of power in controlling your own circumstances. You may be struggling to stay aloft and stay on course. Things like power lines, trees, or mountains may further obstruct your flight. These barriers represent a particular obstacle or person who is standing in your way in your waking life. You need to identify who or what is hindering you from moving forward.

If you are feeling fear when you are flying or that you feel that you are flying too high, then it suggests that you are afraid of challenges and of success.

In reality, we do not have the ability to fly. Thus such dreams may represent that which is beyond our physical limitations. In your mind, you can be anybody and do anything. Another way of interpreting flying dreams is that these dreams symbolize your strong mind and will. You feel undefeatable and nobody can tell you what you cannot do and accomplish. Undoubtedly these dreams leave you a great sense of freedom.

Yes... I LOVED those dreams. They would get me out of any situation. Whatever the threat I faced, I would flap my arms as wings a couple of times and suddenly I would be soaring above everything. If I started to descend all I had to do was flap a couple of more times to increase my altitude.

The feeling was exhilarating and joyous. The first time I road Soarin' at DCA I had tears streaming down my face because it was so beautiful... it was the closest thing to my flying dreams that I had ever experienced.

The interpretation of the naked and peeing dreams doesn’t bother me much. I always figured it meant I wanted to take off my clothes and pee in public and it bothered me immensely…your interpretation was much better!

    ;-)

I know I do have many insecurities and fear of failure. What is so wonderful for me is that I have been able to overcome all of that. With my wife by my side I feel that I can do or face anything; and over the course of our marriage I really have.

Of course this makes the fear of losing my wife absolutely devastating. I won't tell you about those dreams.

    Death -

To dream about the death of a loved one, suggests that you are lacking a certain aspect or quality that the loved one embodies. Ask yourself what makes this person special or what do you like about him. It is that very quality that you are lacking in your own relationship or circumstances. Alternatively, it indicates that whatever that person represents has no part in your own life.

To dream of your own death, indicates a transitional phase in your life. You are becoming more enlightened or spiritual. Alternatively, you are trying desperately to escape the demands of your daily life.

I also read somewhere once that dreaming someone dies meant someone you know will get married soon, which seems a bit farther-fetched, but it was a nice pick-me-up for such dreams. lol

I too have had flying dreams before. Not often, but they VIVIDLY stood out. Some of them were SOOOOO exhilirating and joyous and FREE that it was just about the most wonderful subconscious experience you could have.

Then there was that ghost dream I posted about last year where some invisible force picked me up in this supposedly haunted room and threw me in the air and all over the ceiling---jarring and strange, but fascinating.

Sweet dreams, Trippy...strip down 'n pee to your heart's content!
