Heck, around the time Epcot opened, there was talk of adding a Russia pavilion, even though the Cold War was still going on. We got China in the World Showcase years before the country itself opened itself to the rest of the world. And Norway has always just seems like an odd choice to me. But in a theme park, you can do things that you just can't get away with in the real world. It's part of the Disney magic (not to be confused with the Disney-branded *Magic* that they try to sell everywhere).

Actually, relations between the US & Iran were far from stable in 1980. The Iranians held 52 Americans hostage from late 1979 to early 1981. I can't imagine Disney entertaining the idea of adding an Iranian pavilion to EPCOT at that time.

Fun Fact: ABC's Nightline exists because during the Iran hostage crisis, Ted Koppel began a nightly late night report on the status of negotiations and efforts to release the hostages. I believe it was called "America Held Hostage" at first, later becoming Nightline.

Neither can I. Especially considering so many friendly countries not yet represented in World Showcase.

China: 1 out of every 3 people in the world live there and it has a rich and vast history with a Great Wall and it is geographically huge and it attracts visitors from around the world and it has a beautiful mountains

Russia: the biggest country in the world with a rich history and interesting architecture

Norway: troll legends, beautiful tall people, very pretty and clean lands, it is Europeon, people love it there

Morroco: Mediterranean, people visit , it has music and architecture that allure peple.

Iran: nobody wants to visit that country because it doesn't have anything to pull people in. There is no famous natural or man made thing to see. I think that i would rather vacation in oaklahoma than iran.

But if Disney made Oklahoma Adventure what rides and shows would it have? It could have "Twister, Ride it out" or something like Soarin' instead of hang glider we could ride a propeller plane used for crop dusting and fly over wheat and corn fields. How about a wagon train ride?

Yes... I too was surprised the first time I visited Oklahoma. There is much more to do there than I ever imagined.
