Personally, I hope that they don't bring back EO, as its time has come and gone, and there have been a couple decades in the mean time. I know there are rumors/plans for it to come back in DL (which I also hope it doesn't), but I really don't see that as a likely reason that they would get it in WDW, because of the demographic differences.

As much as I enjoyed the show, I don't recall the above as being correct. The last few shows I saw were in a mostly empty theater. No gate storming in my memory.

But I am glad it's coming back to DL!

Part of that was because movies have a lower repeat visit quotient than ride attractions but also I think M. Jackson had by that time had some legal issues and had become a parody of himself. I remember people used to laugh towards the end of the run when he said "We're going in".

I have mixed feelings about a change over. While I see all the interest, I watched Captn EO the other day and while it is good I am not sure that several months down the road when the shock of his passing has subsided attendance would be low again. I would rather they make a new movie, though I would be open to rotating all three 3-D movies from Magic Journey's (my favorite), Captain EO and Honey. And can they pleeeaassse change the movie in France.

Would LOVE to see Magic Journey's again - but somehow I don't think today's audiences would get it. That movie was very, very trippy - and definitely a product of the late 70s!! But still, retro is in, right, so maybe it could find an audience??!!

Let's hope that whatever Disney finally decides to finally replace HISTA with has music as a core element! They seem to have forgotten just how important a good song can be in extending the life of an attraction!

Captain EO is the most iconic and memorable of the 3D movies (The muppets would be second place)

Didn't hate him, didn't love him either. Personally, I liked Magic Journeys much more than Captain Eo. Kind of 'timeless' in its own mystical way. Captain Eo seems very dated to me. Of course, either of these if preferable to HISTA. That movie is well past its prime. Epcot needs a NEW 3-D movie experience befitting the FUTURE! With all of the new "Disney Digital 3-D" playing everywhere now, they can do so much more with the medium now.

Funny thing is, I still love Muppet Vision 3-D, It's Tough to Be a Bug, and Mickey's Philarmagic. All of them are much more 'timeless' in their appeal. That's what Epcot needs!

I agree, these are must sees for our family every time.

True, but I was specifically thinking of songs in this case. While good music does help an attraction, it's usually not something you leave the park singing.

EPCOT Center used to be a great place for theme songs - almost every major attraction had one. Today, not so much...

I will be surprised if we see Capt EO in any of the parks now that the initial MJ mania has passed.
