I have never attended one but decided to check it out at the Grapevine Mall. I attended with my 2 small grandchildren. My grandson was chosen to open the store and got to wear the Sorcerer Mickey costume for the Magical Open!!! The cast members were all wonderful and seemed to be enjoying themselves. For some reason they seemed to love my granddaughter because she wasn't in a Disney costume... everybody else was Frozen! One adorable family attended as Monster's Inc all dressed up. No surprise to find us all discussing WDW trips we have taken or planning as we waited for the store to open. I wore my Disney Villains T-shirt with Rock Your Disney Side on back instead of dressing in costume. They had a scavenger hunt and some of the questions were tricky. The answers were hidden thru-out the store. Anyway if you were asked #5 Find the Feisty Fairy that likes to go on adventures with Peter Pan/ what is the name of the island where she and her fairy friends live... I was thinking Neverland... WRONG ! Pixie Hollow... wait what??? Oh well Grandma needs to get with the times. We had fun and it was free. I am so accustomed to being spoiled by the Disney Store in my former home town. The location in Overland Park, Kansas at the Oak Park Mall is the first location to be updated with a lot of interactive technology inside the store. I was expecting this location to be as fancy.Support your local Disney Store so Disney will spend your money to update more locations across the world, please!
