Here is a good page to look at Elder.

    <a href="http://www.iexbeta.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page" target="_blank">http://www.iexbeta.com/wiki/in
    dex.php/Main_Page</a>

Then look for *software applications* then *Software Compatible with Windows Vista* and you'll find a current list of programs compatible with vista.

    Enjoy

I've seen similar reactions to Elderp's on a number of websites, and many folks seem to think it's better to hold of for a few months (where possible) before moving to Vista.

That said, these reviews remind me of OSX when it first came out for the Mac. There wasn't much that would run on it, most peripherals stopped working, it was kinda klugy and not very stable. But it was the first step towards a much better OS.

You can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs. Hopefully the initial pain will be short-lived and worth the long-term payoff (I think it was on the Mac.)

Keep us updated. I'm curious to hear how Vista performs for you. (BTW, I think you can still buy systems from Dell with XP if it's absolutley necessary.)

I DID have to adjust to MS Office 2007 that I added to the computer. Some of the toolbar features from the earlier office are in different places. And, if you want to attach a MS Word document, you have to remeber to save it as a "Word 97-03" document, or else the reader won't be able to open the document as people haven't upgraded yet.

Other than that, I like my VISTA and would not want to go back to XP.

Ohh my goodness....I spend two days looking for the print button. Who would have thought they would hide it where they did.

BTW if you have a lexmark printer and you get script error or handle error: First unplug the usb cord (why don't know but it works this way). Then you have to download the driver, then reboot, then plug in your usb cord, then it will ask you if it can find the driver, then you say yes, then it will work. The driver instructions say different but I finally figured out that was the problem.
