See, in Missouri, rides that break down in other states come in contact with Missouri's magic "Pixie Dust" where it will never break down ever again!

    In the same breath -

When you have stranded people, you need to PERMANENTLY remove Windseeker!

If they can't get it right at Knott's, don't do it at all !! ;p

I say - people who've been lucky to have good parents - would take the Pollyanna approach, and think she was peachy-keen ... to those who have actually dealt with abusive parents in their life - and wouldn't put it past a major Hollywood star, (and lets face it - Most major Hollywood stars have big egos) .. and I wouldn't put it past Miss Crawford that she very well, indeed, mistreated her children.

Back on track with the Windseeker. ;)

I imagine they'd close the ride if a storm was approaching, but they DO pop up sometimes with little warning... I'm just thinking this might not be the best "fit" for this particular ride.

Perhaps a total disassembly and reassembly in a new location will work out better, but I doubt it

As for the storms, the average ride time is maybe 3 minutes? That's about the same as the average roller coaster, and WOF has several of those that manage just fine during storms. However, if a pop-up storm and ride malfunction were to occur at the exact same moment, then that could be pretty terrible

I visited WOF as a child, and have positive (though vague) memories of the day. An incident in line for the rapids ride has become a bit of a running joke in my family! : )

The problem I was thinking of is that those malfunctions stranded people at KBF for two hours or more, IIRC. I was thinking of a situation where the weather was fine when the ride starts... then it malfunctions... two hours later there's a storm during which they would never operate a ride of that type (quite different from a coaster) and the people are still stranded up there in those heavy winds 300 feet up.

Not some place I'd like to be.

    2. If there were safety or rescue concerns (BPFD doesn't have a tall enough ladder or doesn't have a mountaineering rescue team capable of getting guests safely down from a 300-ft tall tower within a couple of hours), then what does that say for the Sky Tower or the Supreme Scream or even Xcelerator attractions?

For that matter, what kinds of safety conditions have to be met in terms of onsite and/or local resources to support these attractions? Does Magic Mountain in Santa Clarita have a different set of standards for the 400-ft open air tower of their Superman ride verses DCA's Tower of Terror where they can probably take a set of stairs down if an elevator breaks down?
